Thing 6--and what a thing it is!

I had some trouble with this one. I did not really like the way Bloglines was set up. I will have to experiment with some others to see if they get better. There was something just not comfortable about it, and I don't know what it was.

I did end up figuring it out, and if I were more of a "newsy" person I would have enjoyed this a little more. I did like that I could hook up with things from NLC, and other library things. Maybe after the election I can get back into enjoying news--but not now.

I know, it's used for more than just news. And it has some potential. Patrons could use it to keep track of health issues. Students could use it to find all of the articles on a certain topic that they are researching. It has possibilities. I will just have to work more with it to see if I can become more comfortable using it. That would help me.

Thing 4

I have listed my blogspot on the comments as the assignment indicated. That was actually harder for me than anything else I have done so far. It was difficult because I could not even figure out my own blogspot address to leave for others to see. But, I got it figured out, so I guess you can teach an old dog new tricks.

I am somewhat computer "savvy" as they say, but mostly I know how to mess them up so a tech person has to come in and fix whatever I have done. Surprisingly, some people still call me and ask me about computers. I wonder if they are looking for theirs to be messed up as well. Who knows?

IMing Thing 5

Well, I have been an IMer for many years. I use it to keep in touch with my sisters who are all over the place. Now that I have set one up again, I have had many invites from friends that I haven't heard from in awhile. They want to chat. For me, it's like text messaging, only better (and easier, and faster).

I got to IM with Allana. She is very friendly and helpful, and she works too much--but don't we all.

Anyway, this was a good assignment for me because I could do it easily and quickly. Those are two of my favorite words.

The 71/2 habits of highly successful lifelong learners

The most difficult one for me is Habit 3--view problems as challenges

The easiest one for me is Habit 71/2--PLAY!

Unfortunately, I spend more time on #71/2 then I do on any of the others.
